This site has been updated with the 2013 trip report.
We started the year by cruising up the Grand Union through Marsworth, Milton Keynes and Braunston onto the North Oxford canal. At Hawkesbury junction we turned right onto the Coventry canal and followed that up to join the Trent and Mersey at Fradley junction. Travelling north we passed through Stone and Stoke on Trent on our way to Middlewich. We turned onto the Middlewich Arm of the Shropshire Union canal and followed that to Barbridge junction. We turned south here to find Hurleston junction where we joined the Llangollen canal. We continued all the way to Llangollen terminus visiting the Whitchurch Arm and the Prees branch on the way before returning back via the Montgomery canal. We continued down the Shropshire Union and Staffs and Worcester canals to get back onto the Trent and Mersey at Heywood junction. Back down the Coventry and North Oxford to the Blue Lias, on the Grand Union for the 2013 Cutweb Rally during September. We then returned back down the Grand Union to our home mooring. A fun cruising year during which we covered 488 miles and passed through 334 locks.
